Ecaterina McCormick
Based in the UK
Born in Galati, Romania amidst the communist rule, Ecaterina holds dear memories of a capitalist flavored "Turbo Gum" and an inner yearning for the light and abstract, strictly forbidden by practical materialism. Her childhood saw the nurturing of passions for mathematics, physics, art, and writing, as accolades and awards in competitions, including the mathematics Olympics, rained down.
Like a circus juggler, she attempted to keep all her subjects and interests aloft, but at times, the sheer volume of information made time management impossible, causing some to be temporarily suspended. Local magazines published her articles on poetry and philosophy, such as "The Aesthetics of Ridiculousness" and "The Forest of Clocks," showcasing the young scientist's precision.
With a full scholarship, she acquired her Master of Science in Advanced Computer Architecture, and concurrently, delved into psychology, seeking self-discipline, which eventually led her to her true calling in art expression. Believing that art leads society, inspiring states of mind and ideas, and that the future is a state of art for a brighter tomorrow, Ecaterina never shies away from her vision. She journeys to war zones, painting street art and large canvases, creating a human-scale relationship with her works, all in an effort to bring balance to the world.
Today, as a Production Designer and Art Director at Kinematics Film Production Company, Ecaterina continues to merge art and science in her future visions of a state of art.
